The baby gate above was installed at the top of the stairs. We were able to accommodate the client’s request that the gate swing around and lay out of the way when open.

The baby gate for at the bottom of the stairs was installed to be flush with the bottom stair. This postitioned the gate higher making it more difficult for a toddler to climb over and easier to parents to open from the bottom of the stair coming down. There was no gap between the gate and stairs to allow a baby to squeeze through or become entrapped.
