When we were out baby proofing a home in Orange County California, we saw this climbing and falling hazard. Innocently enough, a chair was placed right next to the stair banister. From a decorative standpoint, the chair and plants look very nice. Once we pointed out to mom and dad that their toddler could use the chair or potted plants to climb up and over the railing, they removed it immediately from the stair railing. They had never even thought that their little boy could be so adventurous.
Once the chair was removed, we covered the decorative iron with plexi glass to help prevent their curious boy from using climbing over the rail.
